Veterans Treatment Courts provide an alternative for nonviolent offenders with drug-related charges by offering a specialized approach within the court system. These courts aim to reduce repeat offenses and substance use among people with substance use disorders while supporting public safety. The program uses risk assessments, individualized behavioral health treatment, frequent chemical testing, incentives, sanctions, and supportive services to help participants achieve rehabilitation.
