Erixon O. Menjivar-Alfaro, a 20-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for selling firearms to a felon. The sentencing took place on June 25, 2025, in federal court in Omaha. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher presided over the case. Following his imprisonment, Menjivar-Alfaro will serve a three-year term of supervised release.
The charges stem from incidents between April and October 2023 when Menjivar-Alfaro sold four firearms to a confidential source affiliated with the Omaha Police Department. Menjivar-Alfaro was aware that the buyer was a convicted felon. The transactions occurred in his vehicle.
Three of these exchanges took place at a Walmart parking lot near 50th and L streets in Omaha. On April 11, 2023, he sold a Mack-11 pistol; on May 17, he sold a Glock 43 handgun; and on September 7, he sold a Glock-style Polymer80 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine. The final transaction happened on October 3 outside a residence near 20th and A streets where he sold a Mini Draco AK-47-style pistol with ammunition.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. Launched on May 26, 2021, the program emphasizes trust-building within communities, supporting organizations that prevent violence, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring outcomes.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives alongside the Omaha Police Department.
