Octavio Zamora-Chona, a 39-year-old Mexican national residing in Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by Chief United States District Court Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr., on February 13, 2026. According to United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods, Zamora-Chona will serve 180 months in prison and will be subject to five years of supervised release after completing his sentence. There is no parole available in the federal system.

The charges stem from a search conducted on November 21, 2024, when agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and local law enforcement executed a warrant at Zamora-Chona’s residence in Omaha. During the search, authorities found more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine, five firearms—including a short-barreled rifle—and over $19,000 in cash. Investigators also reviewed data extracted from Zamora-Chona’s cell phone which showed evidence of his involvement in methamphetamine distribution.

The investigation was led by the DEA with support from the Omaha Police Department, Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, and Saunders County Sheriff’s Office.
