Jaden D. Reiman, a 31-year-old resident of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced on April 23 in federal court in Omaha for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to an announcement by United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods. Chief United States District Court Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. handed down a sentence of 188 months’ imprisonment. Reiman will also serve a four-year term of supervised release following his prison term; there is no parole in the federal system.

The case centers on a drug trafficking operation involving a Mexican source who supplies methamphetamine to the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas through local couriers. Customers would place orders via a TextNow number and receive deliveries from designated couriers.

Investigators observed Reiman meeting with one such courier at an Omaha location on August 23, 2023, where they conducted what authorities described as a drug transaction. After following Reiman and conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle he was riding in as a passenger, officers used a canine unit that alerted them to narcotics inside the car. A search revealed about 174 grams of actual methamphetamine hidden in a water bottle. Authorities determined that Reiman had ordered the drugs from his supplier and intended to distribute some or all of it after reviewing evidence including contacts found on his phone.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case.
