Gregory Scott Dreher, a 49-year-old resident of Council Bluffs, Iowa, has been sentenced to 216 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing took place on August 14, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska. Chief United States District Court Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. also ordered Dreher to serve an additional 16 months for violating the terms of his supervised release.
Dreher was found to have worked with a methamphetamine supplier based in Mexico who distributed drugs in the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas. He assisted a local courier distributing the supplier’s methamphetamine across Nebraska and Iowa.
Law enforcement observed Dreher meeting with a suspected drug courier at a location in Omaha on October 2, 2023. After the meeting, officers stopped Dreher’s vehicle and discovered more than 400 grams of actual methamphetamine during their search. Authorities arrested Dreher at the scene and seized $4,000 believed to be drug proceeds from his possession.
“There is no parole in the federal system. After Dreher’s release from prison, he will begin a five-year term of supervised release,” said United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods.
The investigation into this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
