Eulisis Martin, a 35-year-old resident of Grand Island, Nebraska, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for attempting to damage federal property with explosive materials and for destruction of government property valued over $1,000. The sentencing took place on January 8, 2026, in Lincoln, Nebraska. United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis presided over the case.
According to the United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods, “Eulisis Martin, 35, of Grand Island, Nebraska, was sentenced on January 8, 2026, in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska, for one count of attempting malicious damage to federal property using explosive materials and one count of destruction of government property over $1,000.” Woods added that Martin received “a total of 60 months’ imprisonment” and that there is no parole in the federal system. After completing his prison term, Martin will serve three years under supervised release and must pay $1,841.65 in restitution.
Court documents show that on June 9, 2025 at about 1:15 a.m., Martin spray-painted “KILL ICE” on the front window of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office located in Grand Island. He then went behind the building and threw a homemade Molotov cocktail at it. The device did not fully function as intended.
A few days later on June 14 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Martin returned to the same location and punctured tires on seven vehicles owned by the United States Department of Agriculture parked behind the ICE office. An officer from the Grand Island Police Department saw him at the scene before he fled.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Martin’s residence on June 16. Officers found two additional Molotov cocktails similar to those used earlier at the ICE office as well as notes about making and using such devices.
On June 17 authorities searched Martin’s vehicle and found boots matching prints from the crime scene along with white spray paint, dark clothing and a knife.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Grand Island Police Department conducted the investigation leading to these charges.
