On January 13, 2026, the Dodge County Adult Drug Court held a graduation ceremony for two participants at the Dodge County Courthouse in Fremont. The event recognized the completion of a program focused on mental health treatment, community supervision, and accountability. Judge Geoffrey C. Hall led the ceremony, with Supreme Court Justice Jason Burgevin attending as a guest along with families and friends of the graduates.
Adult Drug Courts are designed to offer nonviolent offenders with drug-related charges an alternative path through the justice system. These courts use a team-based approach within the court structure to help reduce repeat offenses and substance use among people with substance use disorders. The programs include risk assessments, behavioral health treatment tailored to individuals, regular chemical testing, incentives and sanctions, and access to support services.
Graduate Eric spoke about his experience: “My favorite thing about the program, honestly, is the amount of care and support between all of the participants and the team. The judge himself looks out for all of us because he truly cares about us. We all care about each other.”
