Felix Cruz, a 35-year-old resident of Fresno, California, was sentenced to 235 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing took place on November 20, 2025, in Omaha’s federal court. Chief United States District Court Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. presided over the case. Following his release from prison, Cruz will serve five years of supervised release. Additionally, he forfeited $6,000 that was seized during his arrest.
The case began on April 2, 2024, when law enforcement used a cooperating witness to purchase about one pound of methamphetamine from Cruz at a location in Omaha. Surveillance officers observed Cruz the next day as he appeared to conduct another drug transaction. When approached by police, Cruz tried to escape but was apprehended after a short foot chase. Officers recovered a box with approximately two pounds of methamphetamine and $6,000 in cash.
A search warrant executed at Cruz’s residence in Bellevue, Nebraska led authorities to find an additional 6.5 pounds of methamphetamine.
Cruz admitted after his arrest that he had trafficked several pounds of methamphetamine for a Mexican drug trafficking organization since March 2024 and confirmed that the money found with him came from drug sales.
The investigation involved both the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Omaha Police Department.
